As Spring shows it’s blissful promise with longed-for sunshine and random 55 degree days, I am reflecting. My husband and I are both approaching our birthdays; March for him and April for me. Another year of life experience behind us. Another year of new wrinkles ahead, both figuratively and literally.
Our kids are grown. We’re settled in our careers. Thinking about where we want to be in a few years. What kind of life do we want? What are our options for our retirement years, or senior living, that would work for our stage of life?
Involvement with Linkside
I got involved with Linkside in the fall of 2018 as a member of Hive Real Estate Group at House of Brokers, the listing agent for the development. I fell in love with the community, the people who live there, and the developer’s vision.
Since that time, I have had the privilege of working directly with the Linkside team as a community liaison. My role is minor; I get to help with marketing and foster connections, both within the community and to the broader city of Columbia. But what I really get to do is help people who want and need to simplify their lives, and provide support and assistance with the change. From initial idea all the way to fruition. It is a gift to be trusted in that way. And a gift to see people being able to move forward.
Next Few Years
So, as I sit here and ponder what the next few years will bring for me personally, truly, I can say wholeheartedly that I want to be at Linkside. In fact, that’s the plan. I hope it is sooner than later. The homes are set up so well. They are just right, with everything on the main level. But that’s only one reason.
The thing is that everything can change in a moment or a day, or a week. What we think we know as a certainty can be upended. Today, I can manage my three story townhome. But tomorrow, I may be nursing a broken ankle, like my sister, who fell on the ice.
Fullest Range of Possibilities
Linkside provides the fullest range of possibilities for home and lifestyle. The homes are definitely an attraction. They’re just that beautiful and thoughtfully designed. But the community and close connections are what will bring me to make the move. I’ve just got to sell a few more homes as a realtor, so I can! Wait and see, I’ll be there one of these days.
